As a partner organisation of the Canterbury Regional Basketball Foundation (“CRBF”), the Canterbury Rams are extremely excited to see the recent launch of the Mainland Eagles Academy by CRBF.
One of the founding goals of the Canterbury Rams was to assist in attracting and retaining some of the best coaches in the country, which in turn provides the development, pathway, exposure, and access for a significantly greater number of young Canterbury players to play successfully at higher levels.
The Canterbury Rams organisation is a huge advocate of a US College Basketball Scholarship as a pathway for our talented young players as not only can it develop very good basketballers but also enable them to receive a university degree and to grow as leaders.
This provides the individual with exciting life choices upon graduating that are significantly wider than basketball.
The launch of the Mainland Eagles Academy, led by Mark Dickel and Caleb Harrison, now provides talented young female and male basketballers through the South Island with an exciting opportunity to turn their aspiration of obtaining a U.S College Scholarship into a reality.
