by Piet Van Hasselt
1. DAVE’S
CHESTER JETS REACH SEMIS
Dave Langrell’s English club side the
Chester Jets have reached the Semi Finals of the
Cup (Knockout) Competition, with a win over the
Newcastle Eagles on Sunday, 92-83. The Eagles
side included former Rams import Malcolm Leak.
Dave is playing the sixth man role, with the team
stacked with 4 Americans and Tall Black hero Pero
Cameron. The Jets lost their first game of the
season Saturday against the Leicester Riders,
105-88. This weekend the Jets take on the
Brighton Bears (Saturday UK Time). The people at
the Jets web site have kindly given us the use of
an action photo of Dave for this Newsletter and
Rampages.

2. RAMS COACHES ON KORU TOUR
Three members of the Canterbury Rams and Knights
Management staff have been appointed to positions
on the 2002 Koru Tour to Australia. This annual
event gives opportunities for New Zealand’s
promising youngsters to take on the Aussies and
gain valuable experience. Dave Harrison will
coach the Boys’ U16 and Pete McAllister will
coach the Boys’ U14. Canterbury Rams and
Knights Manager Dene Robinson will manage the
Boys’ U14. Canterbury is well represented
with 17 players (from my rough count) in the
squads, along with Pauline Patterson (Tour
Manager),
Stephanie Topp (U18 Girls Manager) and Sandra
French (U16 Girls Manager).
