PRESENTATION AWARD
The Canterbury Rams have been honoured with the
2001 Game Presentation Award at a recent NBL
meeting. This award recognises the tremendous
efforts of the large number of skilled volunteers
that contribute to the efficient running and
entertainment at each of the Rams home games.
This includes (in no particular order):
Scorebench, Statistics Crew, Rams Executive
Committee, YMCA Dancers, Business Sport
Management Society, Nike Crew, CTV Commentators,
Sweat Crew, Courtside Announcers, and the other
groups that performed during the breaks in play.
Congratulations to everyone involved. RAMS FANS:

award-winning game presentation in 2002!
2. INDY 2002 DRAW
THIS TUESDAY
The Tall Blacks first set of pool game opponents
will be decided next Wednesday (NZ Time –
approx 12:30pm). The 16 teams will be split into
four pools of four. The teams that qualified for
the Tall Blacks historic event are: USA
(organising country), Algeria, Angola, Argentina,
Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, Lebanon, New
Zealand, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, Turkey,
Venezuela and Yugoslavia. Results of this draw
can be found at http://www.fiba.com Rams News
will report the results in the next edition.
3. 2002 TICKET APPLICATION FORM ONLINE
The Season and 4-game Ticket Application Form can
now be found on the Canterbury Rampages web site:

4. TITANS LAUNCH 2002 SITE
The Waikato Titans have re-launched their web
site recently. It takes a while to load but has
some good info and photos of the NBL Champions.
5. NBL PLAYER MOVEMENTS
The following players movements/announcements
have been made since the last off-season edition
of Rams News:
Paul Henare (from Auckland to The Mighty Hawks)
Rob Hickey (returning from year off to The Mighty
Hawks)
Rob Dahlberg (returning from year off to Nelson
Giants)
Kazlo Evans (returning from religious mission to
Waikato Titans)
Chris Tupu (Waikato Titans – retires as a
player, but will remain as Technical Advisor)
Ray Cameron (on leave from Waikato Titans –

7. NBA ALL STARS ANNOUNCED
The always exciting exhibition match pitting the
best of the east against the best of the west in
the US NBA was announced this week. The match is
played in Philadelphia and will feature killer
crossovers and electrifying slam dunks and will
be on Sky TV next Monday 11 Feb (NZ Time).
EAST: Starters: Allen Iverson, Michael Jordan,
Vince Carter, Antoine Walker, Dikembe Mutombo.
Reserves: Jason Kidd, Ray Allen, Tracy McGrady,
Paul Pierce, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Jermaine
O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning. Coach: Byron Scott (New
Jersey).
WEST: Starters: Steve Francis, Kobe Bryant, Kevin
Garnett, Tim Duncan, Shaq O’Neal. Reserves:
Steve Nash, Gary Payton, Wally Szczerbiak, Peja

8. SUPERBOWL BOUND RAMS
The Canterbury Rams namesake in the American
National Football League, the St Louis Rams, have
progressed to the Superbowl on Monday 4 Feb (NZ
Time). The Rams are heavy favourites against the
New England Patriots to be played at the domed
stadium in New Orleans.
