The creator, editor and webmaster of
Rampages and is self-confessed "hoops-junkie". Piet is been
involved in all facets of the sport and has a passion for basketball writing,
web design and statistics.

RAMS ACTIVITIES:
Piet
was a member of the scorebench crew (1996-97) and a TV
statistician (1998-99) - working with Bob Manthei, John
Watson and Terry Brunel. Over the years he has
contributed hundreds of hours as the Public
Relations Manager, Court Controller, Game Entertainment
Manager, Webmaster of Rampages (since 1999), Team Publications editor
and designer (Team Guide and Programme), Rams Fans Email
list manager, Summer Clinic 2001 Director and manager of
the BSMS.
Piet worked as a member of
the world media at the 2002 World Basketball Championships in
Indianapolis, Indiana : USA, where the Tall Blacks placed an historic
fourth against the world superpowers. This included producing daily
reports to the Rams Fans Email list, which will be added soon to Kiwihoops.
During
the off-season, Piet enjoys travelling and attending
world sport events including seven NBA games, the USA@AUS
Challenge in Melbourne, Australian Tennis Open, and the
World Basketball Championships.
He has
refereed all levels of basketball in Christchurch
including the Women's national league and a preseason
Men's national league level game. He is the current coach of the
University U23 Men's Team in Christchurch club basketball and is on both
the executive committees of the Canterbury Basketball Association (CBA)
and Canterbury Basketball Officials Association (CBOA). He works
part-time as a referee mentor at Pioneer Stadium, along with Rams work.
His
ambition is to pursue a career in a professional sport
organisation.
