TIM
THODEY
Director
Tim continues his work as a director of the
Canterbury Rams since taking on the shared role in 2000
· Tim is responsible for the administration of the
organisation and operations · He works in the
information technology sector operating an investment
bank and is a Director of several tech companies · As
the immediate past president of the Canterbury Basketball
Association (CBA) he led a team that took the CBA from
the brink of bankruptcy (with debts in excess of
$100,000) to financial solvency.
JOHN WATSON

IAN GRAHAM
Business Development Manager
Ian returns for his third year on the Rams Management
Team as the Business Development Manager · His
responsibilities include: organising new sponsors,
maintaining sponsorship deals, corporate box sales, and
fundraising · Ian has been a NBL referee for a number of
years and was a member of the CBA Executive, including
the period when current Rams’ director Tim Thodey
was president · He works as an Investment Advisor for
Argent Financial Services · Ian and his wife Sue have
three children: Vanessa, Natasha and Nathan.
LESLIE FAVRE
Operations Manager
Leslie is an intern from the USA and will perform a
variety of tasks across all of the Rams operational areas
· Her work with the Rams counts towards her study at
Ohio University - dual masters program for an MBA (Master
of Business Administration) and a MSA (Master of Sport
Admin) · Leslie is set to graduate from these in 2004 ·
Received Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toledo
on a full athletic scholarship in basketball · Earned
all-Mac team selection and conference player of the week
honours · Interests outside basketball include boating,
running, mountain biking and reading · Leslie’s
parents are Edward and Gladys Favre and she has three
siblings: Stephanie, Ashley and Brian.
WAYNE HUTCHINSON
Team Manager
Wayne will be the Rams Team Manager, looking after team
requirements pre, during and post game · Interests
include playing a variety of sports: rugby, tennis,
squash, golf and competed in the Mountains to the Sea
triathlon · Now spends most of his time as an
enthusiastic spectator and a 5 days a week gym junkie ·
Also passionate about classic cars and owns a 1955
Studebaker · Recently completed a Graduate Diploma in
Business Studies (Marketing) from Massey University ·
Currently employed as a quality improvement manager with
the Department of Conservation · Married to Leonie and
have two young people: Matt 8, and Kaitlin 5.
LESLIE RAYMORE WATSON
Rambo Charitable Trust Administrator
Leslie is one of the driving forces behind the Rams
organisation · She is responsible for managing the Rambo
Charitable Trust, organising the tickets and the
accounting · This is certainly not a full list as Leslie
also handles much of the Rams communications and
volunteers her “free” (and not so free) hours
to Rams operations · Leslie has a PhD and is on parental
leave from her position as lecturer at Lincoln University
in Recreation Management · Enjoys travelling, skiing,
going to the gym, swimming , reading and the movies -
“and hanging out with my family, of course! I don't
get much time for the first six things right now!”
· Leslie’s husband John is a director and coach of
the Rams and they have three children, John
“Buzz” (5), Noah (3), Stephen (1).
PIET VAN HASSELT
Special Advisor: Information / Court Controller
Piet is a self-confessed “basketball-junkie”
and has been one of the key behind-the-scenes workers in
the Rams organisation · Over the last three years he has
contributed hundreds of hours as the PR Manager, Rampages
Webmaster , Team Publications editor and designer, Game
Entertainment Manager, Court Controller and manager of
the BSMS · He has graduated from the University of
Canterbury with a B.Com and has a MBS in Sport Management
(Massey) - Thesis: “Sport Marketing & the
Internet”.
